This is my first post. I want to but a Dakota this spring or summer maybe. Im looking to get the best one I can get in the price range of $10-$12K. I want a 2wd crew cab. Low mileage prefered. What years would be in my grasp at this price range? What engines are available in those years and which ones are most reliable? Can anyone post links to good sites that have this info for me and some with pics too? Thanks.

Years in that price range is a bit vague, alot depends on the milage of the vehicle and options.
Can you explain a little on what you will be using this vehicle for? For daily towing I'd get a V-8, for alot of daily miles I'd get a V-6.
check out carmax.com for a decent list of vehicles in your area.
The 3.9/3.7 for V6 and 5.2 & 5.9/4.7 for the V8. the 3.7L and 4.7L are the next generation of the 3.9/5.2/5.9L.
The V6 engines are the v8 engines minus 2 cylinders and both are reliable.
