Message: GEN 1 Dakota rear ends i have a 8 1/4 one tire fire in their now and was wondering... ...if any gen one dakotas came with a posi rear end? and how can i identify what type of rear end it is?
i found a wrecker near my house with about 6 dakota's in it with a price of a rear end at 50 bucks, sounds like a good investment!

Message: If it's still in the truck, look for a tag in the glove box or under the hood.
If it's out of the truck, try rotating one axle. If the other axle doesn't move at all or much, it's open. If the other axle turns in the opposite direction, it's LS.

Message: If the other axel turns the opposite way it is NOT LS.

Message: endzone is right - if the other tire spins the same way its limited slip; if it turns the opposite way its an open rear.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way
