Subject: 05 Dakota vs. 05 Tundra IP: Logged
Message: I'm getting bored with the Tacoma thread.
All the Taco drivers seem to be fixated on prepubescent name calling.
Maybe the Tundra owners are more mature.
Since the 2 vehicles are a more realistic comparison , same size ,QC option and V8 availability etc...,can we hear from people who've experienced both.
I.M.O. they're both equally ugly so let's all agree from the start that beauty is subjective.

Message: The Tundra is the ONLY Toyota that resembles a real truck. i.e. could actually have a trailer behind it or haul something in the bed!
My uncle has one and loves it. I love my Dak. just depends. Each have advantages and disadvantages. On the streets Tundra's are driven by more men and don't even try to mess with you where as the taco's are driven by the boys who wish they had a real truck and then talk sh*t about the better trucks.
Oh. Some lady bumped into my Uncle's Tundra and he had to have it fixed (in the bed).
The metal in the bed does seem to be kind of weak. That's how you know it's a Japanese truck :P

Message: Tundra is more like an old mans truck. The interior is just so nice its like driving a camry on steroids. In that aspect, the dakota feels almost tougher to me. But in reality the tundra is where its at if you NEED a truck. The price tag isn't too friendly. Fully loaded 4dr '05 tundra with some Toyota accesories that i worked on a couple months ago was $40,000

Message: Beware of Tundras. I talked to a 2wd four door owner who can't get more than 12mpg. I was shocked. He was very upset about it, and the dealer had no explanation. Since then I've heard of this problem frequently.
