I have a 98 dakota club cab 2X2 V6 sport and SLT
bright red. I am wondering if there is anything strange about have sport and SLT? I have never seen that before.

you have both stickers on one truck or something like that? if so then whoever you bought it from probably did it. i would check into it cause you might have gotten ripped off if they charged you more and told you it was a more expensive model than what it really was. oh, and it would be a 4x2 not 2x2.

how do I know if they are stickers? The SLT is right behind the dakota sign and the sport is back on the side of the box.

Such a beast has never been made. Somebody either changed the box or put other stickers on.
Are the bumpers chrome? Is the facia gray or body color? What power accessories do you have?

The bumpers are chorme and so is the grill.
the power accessories are power windows, power locks, dual air bags, fog lamps, tilt wheel, A/C, auto, It has the special sport tire rims and the lights on the passenger side on the floor.

sounds like an SLT w/ sport rims. my '00 sport came with the base 15x7 5 spoke alloy rims. someone prolly put those sport decals on the bed. i've seen that on a couple of dak's but more so on full size rams. i'vee seen sport on the hoods and beds.

Chrome bumbers and chrome grill = SLT
Doesn't your title tell you? Your VIN will. Call your dealer or insurance agent with your vin. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter. Basically the same truck, just two different visual packages ... at least on the 02 it is.
