I've never bought one and am considering one. I dont know what I really need, or what they do, but I think it would be a good idea to get one and learn how to use it.

Do any of you own any of those electronic diagnostic tools? Do they plug into the computer directly???? Are they worth the price paid?

I have never heard of a Mitchel Scan tool . Do thay have a website? I am going to buy a scanner soon and I am looking for a good mid-priced unit.
I have been looking at the Auto X-Ray. Is this a good unit?

The Auto Xray is an excellent tool. I personally use the Actron OBD-II Scanner and OBD-2 Software for my laptop. Also excellent tools.

Which would you suggest? AutoXray, actron, or the ob-2.com ? Do any of them encode the VIN? a few of my friends are going to get the MP PCM and we dont want to have to deal with the dealerships
