My enemy from work just brought a 05 qc v6 2x4 he claims that his truck is better than my 04 qc v6 2x4 whats so different from the 04 than the 05 besides the body and frame....arent the both engines the same?

yes the engines are the same. Sure the 05 is improved in some areas, but lacking in others. Seems that most around here agree the 04 models has higher quality materials used on the interior, also a much better look. He has a stronger frame, better ride quality and better front suspension design. To me the looks of a truck and the quality of the interior materials are a major deal so im very glad i have an 04

I see nothing wrong with the 04 and the 05. Both very nice looking trucks. I did pick a 05 over the 04 mainly due to the great ride/handling and comfortable interior.Personally I love the body styling. For being so ugly as some say I sure get comments on how sharp it is.Myself I think it is a great truck as all the Daks are. I have liked them all from the beginning. I still have my 94 and just cant get rid of it yet.

I honestly cannot understand the appeal of a 3.7 V-6 in a 4400 pound curb weight Quad Cab. I guess I've had my fill of vehicles that the gas pedal is used as an On/Off switch.

a truck is not a sports car. i have a 04 3.7l 4x4 auto wuth 3.92 gears. i can light the rear tires up when i want to and have no problems with passing. it has plenty of power on and offroad. The only reason i would spring for the 8 next time is that i simply get no better gas mileage than they do, other then that its a great engine

Tom P, your '04 QC is 60 pounds lighter than a comparable '05 QC. If you both have the same rearend gear ratio, then challenge him at the local dragstrip and stomp him.

I currently own a 2003 quad cab with the 3.9 v-6. Personally I think the truck is underpowered. Yeah if I punch the gas it'll go but you can't use cruise control except on flat ground or else the tranny will always be shifting. So I went shopping for a V-8 quad cab. Well nobody will give me anything for trade on my 03 so looks like I'm stuck with it for a couple of years. I drove both the 05 and 04's with 4.7 V-8 and 5 speed auto. They do much better in hills and won't be looking for a gear all the time. But my main impression of the 05 was how cheap the interior is. Now mind you I'm not made of money and the only trim level I can afford is the ST, but the first thing the wife said when we test drove it was YUK! My 03 quad cab sport has a much nicer interior and looks better on the exterior too. I just don't like having to spend big bucks just to get a truck that's not butt ugly. The ST trim on the 05 has gray bumpers that really hurt the trucks appearance. If they would just paint them the body color it would be a great help. Just my opinion.

i have a 04 with the 4.7 top of the line i went to got test drive the 05 to do a trade and when i drove it it great but not as great as my 04 did the body is nice but i perfer the 04 body it has a better look to it and think ppl like the 04 style better

I would just prefur the 04 with a V8 since they don't brake down as much as the Gen4 or 5 trucks.
But the last edition meight just be the best. I guess you won't know untill you buy one.
