Subject: Brakes Rotors - Something New!

I've read a lot about warped rotors that can't be fixed. So much so, that I began to wonder if there was a differant problem. Especially when the same problem occurs every few thousand miles on the same trucks with new pads and rotors.

And my truck has recently started having those symptoms that we commonly attribute to warped rotors. I have mic'ed them out, inside and out, and they are perfect. There is no measurable disc run out. I have asked others with these symptoms to do the same, but so far have had no takers. So, again, the question is, "Do the rotors really get warped?"

Well, tonight, somebody on another board pointed out this web site that answers the questions. And you'll be surprised at the answer. The article is written by Carroll Smith, racer and author of a series of books starting with "Engineer to Win". If you want to know more about performance engineering, this is the series you need to own. Anyway, I digress. Read this article the next time you think your discs are warped.
