Subject: Weird Problem? Whats causing this? IP: Logged
Message: Well, the truck is a 98 v6 sport reg cab 6ft bed. auto. It has new plugs, wires, rotor, cap, coil. It doesnt want to stay started unless I press the throttle. However If I go into drive or reverse and drive it for about 20seconds and then come to a stop, IT IS FINE? But If I were to shut it off, start it back up, It wont stay running until I go in drive, but I can then, after it was in drive, put it in park and it'll stay running. Its really odd. Whats causing this? Thanks.

Message: as long as you dont have any codes in the PCM, check the operation of the IAC motor @ idle. check for any vacuum leaks, check all of the obvious visual items.

Message: slow2dak, how much of a difference did you notice when you interrupted the PCM to TCM connection.
also, did you pull the pin out of the connector on the TCM, or did you cut and tape the wire up?
