Subject: Balljoint Reimbursement IP: Logged
Message: Hello.
Has anyone received any money from Daimler Chrysler after submitting aftermarket balljoint replacement receipts to the "reimbursement" center? It has been about three weeks since I sent mine in.
Thanks

Message: Update. I received a call from Daimler Chrysler on Feb. 22nd. They said that my claim has been processed and that a check for $259, has been sent. I think I paid about $600, for parts, labor and wheel alignment to replace the upper and lower ball joints with Moog.

Message: I received my reimbursement a couple days ago. Here's some info for those of you who did the work yourself - DC will not reimburse you for your time, only for the price of the upper ball joints. When I submitted my claim, I included an amount for two hours labor at the local Dodge dealer's hourly rate. I received a phone call about three weeks later from a woman at DC who told me they cannot reimburse me for my time. I told her to go ahead and send the check for the price of the ball joints and I would be resubmitting a claim for my time, only this time it would be on a reciept from Rod's Garage...lol She laughed and told me to try it, it may work. I'm not counting on getting any more money, but at least they'll have to take the time to research it and all.

Message: The stealership I use charged DC about $135.00 to
replace a upper ball joint on my 02 a few months
before the recall.
I didn't figure DC would reimburse a amount that
was way out of line, even if they were Moog's.
If DC paid out $1200.00 to some of the above
threads, sounds like to me someone made some extra
bux. Just hard to believe it really happened.

Message: Dealer replaced mine under the extended warranty but charged me $100 for an alignment. When I got the letter about extending the warranty to 100,000 for 2WD I sent DM a note - along with my receipt - and asked for the alignment charge.
Roughly 5 weeks later I received a check for $102. I can't complain.
