Hello- Can you get a 360 (5.9) in the new 2005 Dakotas? What are all the available engine options? Is the Getrag 6 speed manual available yet and if so with what engines? Thanks in advance for any response. Peace.

No clue on the transmission question but the only engine options for the 05 Dak are the 3.7L and the 4.7L...not sure if the 4.7L high output is available for the Dak's or not but I'm thinking it is.

the 3.9 was replaced by the 3.7, the 5.2 was replaced by the 4.7, and the 5.9 was replaced by the 5.7, which isnt available in the new dakotas.

As above. There are two version of the 4.7 - standard and high output. The getrag 6 speed is due out in the spring, but will not be available with the HO version of the 4.7. No word on actual gear ratio's yet.
You can get a 5 speed with the V6 today, but I don't think the 6 speed will be offered.

according to www.dodge.com the 6 speed manual is available now. no HO 4.7 though.

Thanks for the responses! I went down to the Dodge dealer, and looked at several '05 quad cabs, and they all had either the 3.7 or 4.7. No H/O 4.7 and no manual trans. I couldn't bring myself to drive one they are just too ugly (just my opinion). They make the new fords look attractive! I will just have to keep driving my '01 QC and try to trade it in on a low mileage '04 in another year or so. Peace.
