Is there a fuel pump relay for this truck? if so where is it? is there also a fuse in addition to the relay? is the fuel pump in the tank or on the motor? I have an 88 dakota with a 3.9l v6 auto trans. thanks!

ASD relay in underhood fusebox
check wiring under it.
Yes - in tank..

theres no fuse panel under the hood on a 88 dak,
theres three relays on the driverside inner fender,that look basicly the same,two are the same,they,re together, 1 is the relay for the pump,1 for the starter and 1 for something else,don,t remember,

that info is very helpful to me. I have to picl it up in the morning and I really don't want to buy a fuel pump, i'm hoping it is the relay or fuse and not the pump. It is the original pump so I'll bet i'm buying a pump tomorrow.
I forgot to ask where the fuel filter is? is it on the frame rail or on the motor? or is it in the tank? I know there is a sock filter on the pump but where is the paper element canister fuel filter? thanks again
