 Subject: Light bulb change?

bought a 92 Dakota xtended cab. On the passenger side under the dash seems like a courtesy light or something. Bulb is way up inside a narrow tube. anyone know how to change it? owners manual says it's type 42 or something those "push in" type with no brass base, but I can't get old one out. is there another one on drivers side havent found it. Dome light works ( door open, etc. ) Thanks. Dome light is way in back so should be a light up front I would think.
