Message: my 97 has a push button near the pull-out knob for the headlights, and they don't come on with your high beams on

Message: i have a 2001 v6 auto w/foglights.
turn the light knob clockwise to on the pull out and it should lock and stay on. check you fuse, bulbs and make sure wires are connected. if both lights dont work most likely its the fuse or if previously owned the wires may have been disconnected to attach to fog lights on a grill protector.

Message: By any chance are your high beams on? The lights are wired such that the fogs go off if the high beams are on.

Message: I had the same problem when I bought my 99 SLT. Altho it is a 5.2 engine, the light controls are probably the same. Based on input from the web, I went to autozone and ordered a new headlight switch for $36. Took me about 20 minutes to make the change and that fixed my problem.
