Subject: Fan and heater controls IP: Logged
Message: I hate to say it but I have finally had a problem come up with my Dak after 120,000 miles. My fan speed just stopped working last night. Some of the indicator lights on the whole interior air system cluster went out the other day, as well as being able to get heat out of the floor. Heat is produced, it's not the heater core, all the controls have just decided to call it quits. Just wanted to let anyone who cares know.

Message: Funny you should mention the resistor for the fan speed control. Two things I replaced:
1. The entire control mechanism that you see in the dash (3 knobs, a/c button, heated mirrors button). I did this as the back-lighting burnt out when the heat/airflow out of the floor stopped working.
2. Just replaced the fan-speed resistor that Dak94 mentioned above. My parts manager at Bedford Chrysler/Dodge in Bedford,PA (by the way, a very good/honest service and parts dept.) mentioned that it was a common part to go bad in our trucks (nationally about 1000 ordered by dealers/week). All fan speeds work again and re-gained blowing air/heat out of the floor vents
