If you have the 4.7 DONT use platinum plugs, the coil packs dont like them as much and you will lose power. Stick with a copper core plug.

my formerly pingy 3.9 very much likes my Autolite AP3923 plugs (1 step colder than stock) and my 8mm Taylor Spiro-Pro wires.

are the 3923's a good choice for a 2001 3.9?
autolites website reccommends 5524 platinum or resistor for 2001 3.9.
i want the highest performance i can get.

Personally I think autolites are a waste of money. I think champions are a good choice. The 3923's will work fine in the 3.9 cause it sill has a cap and rotor and no coil packs.

Autolites a waste of money? They're like $1.50 a plug, if that...

I got Splitfires in my truck currently...wasn't impressed by the AP3923's. Splitfires were the same but cost a lot more than the Autolites...factory ran the same too. All trucks react to the plugs differently...some run like sh!t with the Autolites, some run awesome. Same goes with the Bosch plugs as well.

I meant it was a waste to try to put autolite's 3923's in a 4.7, sorry if i wasn't to clear there.

I just recently put autolite 3923 plugs and autolite 7.5mm plug wires in my 99 5.2 SLT. Very happy with them so far, I had been having trouble with missing and had an engine light code for misfire on #6. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor and she runs like new, and no more engine light.
