Message: use a penny to open the fob. Just put it in the slot in the back and twist.

Message: Bobodean is correct. Use a penny to open the fob. It says in the owners manual what battery it takes. Can't remember. A small flat one. Mine on my 2002 took 2 of the batteries. They are stacked on top of each other in the fob.
