 Subject: 95 dakota random problem start

I have a 95 dakota 2.5l that every couple of days has problems getting the engine to fire, but when it does fire, it runs like a champ. Gets plenty of fuel cause i can smell it. Problem appears to be spark. I have just replaced coil, secondary coil(hall effect), cap, rotor, wires and plugs, and every time i replace something I think its fixed because it will start right up and run great. then a few days later it decides not to fire up. then out of nowhere it will run fine. Any one got a clue, any ideas will be appreciated.

I had a problem somewhat like yours about 2 years ago. I have a 99 with the 3.9 in it. It would have problems starting sometimes and sometimes it would just cut off while i was driving it. I found my problem to be with the Auto Shutoff relay. The contacts where dirty and not alowing any charge to the coil.
