Subject: Tire recomendations..... IP: Logged
Message: I need to get new tires soon, and was
wondering if there are any out there that will
last longer than my last 2 sets (Kumho,
Dunlop). It seems that I got through about a
set a year ( I drive windy roads to work every
day). It's getting expensive replacing tires so
often. Are there any that wont wear as fast???
thanks.

Message: I've got about 13K miles on a set of LTX M/S tires. Still look good (like that means anything). This tire is expected to last at least 60K miles. Some people say they have used the same ones for 80K miles. Initial cost is a little high. But if they really do last 60K miles, that's a good price.
If you don't live where it snows, maybe the LTX all season might be a better choice.

Message: I have the Michelin LTX M/S tires also. I have about 20K on then and they still have a zillion miles left in them. The only thing I dislike about them is they don't "stick" as well as other tires might, but maybe thats a cost of long-life. The Michelin LTX A/S was not available in my size...I would have preferred it. I have the 15" wheels on my 1999 Dak.

Message: I've got a set of Michelin LTX Pilot 255/55/17 on 17x9 R/T wheels. After 40K miles, they seem to have about 30K left at least. Mine cost about $168 each. They are by far the quietest, best riding, longest lasting tires I've ever had. One of the best side benefits (knock on wood) is the LTX's don't seem to be a "nail magnet" like the OEM Goodyears. An R/T owner told me how happy he was with these tires, now I am too.

Message: I also have a 1999 Dakota with P255/65R15 105S Goodyear tires on. I only have 14,000 miles on them and they are down to the tread bars! What other tires (brands and sizes) have you all found as a better replacement?

Message: what about BF goodrich T/A . my cousin had a set on his tacoma. after 3 years the tires looked brand new. I would of get a set for my dak but cost too much.my factory goodyear tires on my truck was like talking a sander to a peice of wood. wore out so fast you could see them wear down sitting in the driveway lol. I will never go with goodyear tires again.
