Subject: High idle IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 5.2 5 speed 4x4 dak (103,999) that has recently developed a high idle, (1000rpm's). I had been waiting for some good weather to install my new Bosch 22.5 lb injectors I bought from Five-O, so Installed them hoping they would cure my problem. Although the truck runs incredible now, way better than the 19lb ford units I had in there(no comparison). The idle problem still exists.
Today I cleaned the IAC sensor (back of TB)reset the computer, no help, anyone have any ideas??
BTW I have a Sick-50MM ported TB, relocated IAT, FIPK and Flow Master 1-2 exhaust.

Message: Sounds like a possible vacuum leak. The Dakotas still run surpisingly smooth with a leak, but the idle will increase like you said. Even a cleaned up IAC will often not fix the problem. It is hard to clean them up thoroughly. Check all your vacuum lines and see what you find. I don't think the IAC will be a big expense if it needs to be replaced.
