I just got back from the Dodge dealership. (had my radio replaced) Like all dealerships they were hunting in packs. They told me that if I trade my Dakota or sell it and bring in a copy of the registration Dodge will give me $2,000 off of a new Dakota because of the recall. $2,000 after all of the regular rebates and incentives. So if I bought a Dakota at invoice(I get friends and family discounts) it is $2,000 under that. Not bad...too bad I don't like the new Dakota that much. Just wondering if anyone else was offered anything like this?

Not sure of the details, but I did hear of a Dakota/Durango ownership loyalty bonus rebate being offered when trading to a new one.

if you didnt really like it. why get a 2005 then? it maybe like the other guy said one of those ownership loyalty bonus rebates. I looked at the 05 and didnt like the look outiside or inside as well. maybe they can do more in 06 with the addition of the hemi I hope =-)

I will stick with my 01. It looks way better. They want almost $30,000 for a new one...I only owe $3,000 on mine. I was reading in Road and Track that the New Dakota runs the 1/4mi in 16.6. That sucks. The dealer told me that he thinks they are bringing back the R/T. I told him I doubt it but if they did they would probably call it the SRT-?.

Offered the same deal, but told its for any Dak/Durango recall owner, applies to Durango sale too, don't have to sell or trade what you have if you just want another. Claimed to be on top of rebates of up to $7500 on these models. But there is no mention of Dakota rebates when I searched the web, and they blew any chance of a sale when they cancelled my ball joint appointment at the last minute because they gave my parts to someone else. I would have considered a new 4.7 HO with 3.92 gears.

Way to go..continuing the long running tradition of conformist buying in America..you were told what to buy. You "dont really like the 2005" and yet you bought it. Thats why the ugly ass thing is still in production. If you didnt buy it they would stop making it..Zero sold = Zero produced. But instead you got a whopping $2,000 grand (they told you that was an excellent deal im sure) so you took the bait. On behalf of all Americans that think for themselves i thank you...
