Subject: ticking noise in muffler/pipe
IP: Logged

Message:
I just had my muffler and pipe replaced, everything behing the cat. And ever since I have heard this presistant ticking noise. It does it while its running and while it's cooling off. It's a bit slower and louder once you turn it off. It sounds like it is coming more from the pipe but it reverberates down the whole thing. Is it just a bad muffler/pipe or welds or hangers??? I just want to know what I need to do to make it stop.

Thanks!!

When you shut it off, while it's making the noise, climb under your truck and track down the source of the noise. Could be a joint, or perhaps new exhaust component touching a part of the truck it shouldn't.
