Subject: Ball Joints Recall IP: Logged
Message: I got a notice in the mail to replace them. My question is, what are they replacing them with? The same exact design or are they much better? I heard that some of them were found defective from a certain factory, am I getting the same parts from a different factory? I have nothing wrong with my ball joints, should I bring it in and let them replace it?

Message: #1 - I assume they replace them with balljoints.
#2 - Probably the same design. since there is nothing wrong with the original design.
#3 - either the original manufacturer fixed the defects or it is a totally different manufacturer.
#4 - how do you know there is nothing wrong with your ball joints?

Message: I suspect you are right about that; I don't see another way to explain why some failed so early, while others like mine that saw some rough duty held up fine. But I think they did claim a design flaw that could lead to corrosion.
Just got the new ones myself, figured might as well start fresh for free. The rumor they are being replaced with peanut butter seems to be unfounded...
Lead, follow, or get out of the way
