15-1600rpm at 60mph, really????
My 2000 4.7 automatic QC (not sure of the rearend and mention that because I presume it makes a difference, doesn't it?) has always run 2000rpm at 60mph. My gas mileage has run consistently between 14-16mpg (a few times a little higher, a few times a little lower) which seems pretty normal based on what most posts around here say.

Not sure what my rear end is. But at 2000 RPM I'm running between 75-80 mph. 04 CC SLT 4.7L 5-sp auto w/OD and I get a bit over 19mpg runnin 80-85 on the interstate.

In addition to knowing your rear gearing, it would help to compare tire sizes.
3.9L 5spd 3.92rear 10.5"x31"x15 tires:
60mph is about 2050rpm.
Oh,I had my speedometer checked and the speedo adjusted to fit my change in tires/gearing, so I know that 60 mph shown, is really 59.8mph.

1600 rpm top gear converter locked - 17mpg
2300 rpm 3rd gear converter locked - 20mpg

I haven't noticed my RPMs at 60, but warmed up and at 70 (normal cruising speed up here in the Dakotas) I get about 1800. 05 4.7L 5-45RFE 3.55 4x4 w/ 265/70R16 tires.

i don't remember anymore since my '00 QC 3.9 5sp w/3.55's and 235/15's has been in the body shop for 8 frickin' weeks now!!!!!!!!!

That thing should be able to fly after being in the shop for that long, but it's probably in the back collecting an inch of dust on the hood. Best thing to do is get all over them by calling every damn day asking when you're truck will be done.

i did get it back for the weekend last week but had to bring it back. they did great paint & bodywork but overlooked some things. like puttin a chrome grill on my SPORT. missed some damage on the passenger door? and didn't change the windshield. the new cooling fan wasn't working and a couple of other things. with the damage and rental so far the total ought to be around 8 grand. as long as their ins is paying, i have a rental and the job is completed correctly i will be alright.

My gearing is 3.55:1
Also my 318 is mated to a 46RH with a .69 4th gear.
I Seems like since its about 25 degrees out here my fuel economy is about 15 MPG
