just found out about this site a few days ago, and it has proven to be very informative. well I need some help? I recently bought a '97 dakota 3.9l 5spd. it's got some miles on it but runs good. just yesterday the check engine light came on and by reading postings on this site I found a link to a web site that help me find out for what reason the light came on. My truck does'nt run any different yet but the numbers that came up on the odometer where 12,72,55. 12 is just the input to pcm had been disconnected and 55 is the completion of fault code display. 72 came up being "catalyst efficiency below required level" so there is my problem and my question. I was wondering what exactly is the problem so i wont have to buy any unneeded parts. could it be a quick fix? any input on this subject would be a great help.
thanx.
