Subject: buckets vs. 40/20/40 IP: Logged
Message: On a 2000 Dakota regular cab....
I have buckets right now and would like the 40/20/40 seating. Do I need new seats or does the center cousel switch out for the center seat?
If it does, anyone wanna trade?
Thanks y'all,
Josh

Message: The bench seat in my 2000 cc is all one piece.
When I removed it to mount an amp,it all came out together, drivers side, middle, and passenger side.
Two bolts in front of each seat and two behind, the seat belt for each is,I think, what holds and supports the center part. After undoing all the bolts, everything came out together.
Hope this helps!

Message: I have a RC R/T and was going to swap my buckets for a bench as well. It's good to know it's all one peice. The hard part is finding a good price on the bench. They should be pretty common off wrecked Dakotas but the frist price I found was $1000! I said no way, then I found a perfect one for $250, that's more like it. I haven't picked it up yet but was wondering if it would end up using the holes left in the floor pan by the buckets, or are new holes required?

Message: Actually the 40/20/40 and the buckets are the same seats. On the 40/20/40 seats ther are 4 brackets attached to the inner bottom seat tracks which hold the center seat/armrest in place. If it
wasn't set up like that and was one piece if you moved the drivers seat the passenger would move also. I've had both the 40/20/40 in DAK1 and the buckets in DAK2.

Message: Maybe I should just try and find the center seat setup for my buckets then. The seat I was thinking of is the 60/40 split bench like on the newer trucks which is really just the driver's bucket and a bigger passenger bucket to make up the middle. Maybe I should just start by pulling out the console and seeing what may work in it's place. I'd love to make somehting work for $50 and spend $200 on motor mods.
