Has anyone installed ceramic brake pads on a GenIII and if so, where did you get them?

Im thinking about using ceramic pads when i get my Powerslot rotors. I know Raybestos has a pair and I know I can get them at Schucks Auto store. Napa has their own ceramic pads also.

My thinking is since ceramics are much harder than the heat treated cast steel rotors, the Powerslots may groove/wear, not warp, prematurely.

I think if I spent the bucks on Powerslots, I would opt for oem or softer pads to prevent premature rotor wear.

Ceramic and Carbon pads are great for high heat aplication but are not that great for a daily driver. Semi-metalic and carbon-metalic are much better for daily use. By the time you get the ceramic pads up to their best operateing range you have already comme to a stop. They will last longer but they will not stop much better.

The brake dust issue is the reason I was asking, I have the powerslot rotors and the brutestop pads. They work great but generate more brake dust than the standard Dodge brake pad.

Did you see the quiet stop pads from Raybestos? I don't know which ones to get when I put on my Powerslots.

Erin,
I did not see the quiet stop pads. I asked for the heavy duty pads because of the weight of the quad cab.

Steady, I would have never thought it possable to generate more brake dust then the oem set up! My 2001 dodge has not developed any warped rotors or drums but I can not belive how poor the brakes are. These are the worst brakes that I have ever seen on a vechile. They are still useing cheap single piston slideing calipers up front. The rotors and drums are also very small for a vechile of the Dak Quad Cabs size and weight. What ever you decide to use please let us know how it works out.
