have 03 slt , no dakota badges on doors. i see other slt with the badges on doors. anyone know why.

My truck says nothing but Dodge Dakota on the rear tailgate and 4X4 on the sides.
It's some sort of SLT or SPort package. I'm not actually sure. I've got most options except the overhead console or leather seats (if Dak's have leather). Got the tow package though which is nice and 4 wheel disc. I'm fairly happy with it.
I did lose a middle hub cap thing on one of my rims. Anyone know of a cheap place to order one?
It happened soon after I got new tires, so it may have been put on half a$$ed by Pep Boys.

after 01 or 02, they cheaped out bigtime. They even took away the V8 badges.

Yea they did cheap out, i think after 2000 it was actually an option to have the badges and not standard. i though i had seen it listed somewhere as an option when i was looking at new ones a couple years ago.

2002 was the last year for the metal badges on the door. Also new in 2003 instead of just putting "4x4" on the tailgate they started putting "4x4" on both rear fenders. Mine simply says "Dakota" and "SLT" on the tailgate (right side) and "Dodge" on the left side of the tailgate.

the only badging on this '05 QC i've been driving for the last month is on the tailgate. "DODGE"
"SLT" and "V8 MAGNUM". nothing else

Mine don't even say V8 Magnum except on the air filter box. Which is removed.
Thanks for the eBay links. You guys aint s**tting. Their are plenty on eBay.
I should have thought of that.
I'm almost too poor this week to go buy one for $10 or less after my latest mod costed me a few hundred :-P

They reason DC stripped the badges is for coast savings. Remember when DC was in finacial trouble a few years back..
Yes it was a cheep thing to do.
I got a '96 so all the badges are there.

They also burned off the badges on the Durangos in 2001 as the wifes '01Dur had none- no magnum on the front fenders. So I substituted the "Mercedes Benz Powered" badges I got at a Freightliner truck show. Now my 96 DAK has the magnum and slt badges though it was a bridge year and the rear tail DODGE badge is like what the bubble design '97s ran.

I always thought my 00 looked kind of ricerish with a big ol' SPORT plastered on the door.
Now if the truck had a V10,,, bring on the POWERED BY DODGE V10 stickers,,, just kidding ;-)
