 Subject: help w/tire size

i bought a used dak.
it came w/aftermarket wheels and 31105015's on it.
the door was repainted and they painted over the sticker.
how can i tell what size tires came on the truck cuz theese just dont look right they stick out wider than the truck, i realize it may be the offset of the wheel, but they rub now i could only imagine how bad it would be with the proper offset
and site i can go to and run the vin to check

2wd or 4wd?
4wd's came with 31's in most cases. I have 32's on my stock 02 4wd and have VERY minor rubbing with wheels turned.

the wheels are eagle alloy 10 holes...
i think they may be 15x10 but not sure

The standard tire on Gen III Dakotas is 235/75 R15.On 15x7 rims.
Optional is 265/70 R16.On 16x8 rims.
That said ,I've 31x10.5 R15 tires on my 2001 4x4 QC and yes they are sticking out about 1/2 inch but they do not and should not rub in this tire size.

Hammerdak - you're listing sizes for diferent years. On many years when metric size 15s were standard, 31x10.5 15s on15x8 wheels were also offered and came with wheel flares.

Yeh, I thought 15x8 was also an option and new that different years had different options , but my info came from my 2001 Dakota brochure.
Maybe it's a Canadian thing.
Manufacturers do supply different packages up here than in the US on occasion.

97 to 2000 had the option of 31x10.5-15 on 15x8 rims with the tire handling package. They changed it to 16x8 in 2001 I think.
