Subject: plug wire looms on valve cover screws
IP: Logged

Message:
anyone know how to remove the plastic stock spark plug wire looms/holders that are screwed onto my valve cover screws? the valve covers are in the way of simply unscrewing the holders. it looks like i could hold the looms/holders in place and uncrew the valve cover screws out from underneath them, but unscrewing the valve covers seems a bit scary for a noob like me.
should i just go for it and unscrew th evalve covers just to remove the stock looms or do you guys have any better ideas?
i was thinking maybe hitting them with a pencil torch till they are soft enough to just pull off of the valve cover screws.

Thanks

turbostang is right. However, they wont just slip off with ease. They're held on the screw with little teeth inside the loom holder. Just give them a good tug. They'll come off. Then you'll be able to unscrew the valve cover stud.
