Message: Hi I have a 2001 4x2 slt dakota. It has on just over 133000 Miles on it and of recent it has been idling and reving very very inconsitantly. Things have gotten so bad that the engine light keeps coming on and the vehicle cuts out while I am driving with no warning. This has become extremely dangerous as I can't control the vehicle when it cuts out and I am becoming increasingly afraid that a I may get into an accident. Does anyone have any suggestions or clues as to what is the problem with my pick-up? If so please, please let me know.

Message: Welcome to Dodge country.
My suggestions would be as follows: trade it, burn it or have a buddy steal it and sink it in a lake. Just get rid of it.
I've managed to eek just over 110,000miles out of mine but it's having major electrical problems (cluster dies, tail lights die, 50 million chimes for no reason, radio cuts out) and now the rear end is grinding. And yes I've checked all the gounds and connectors I could reach and no the stealership can't fix it cause they can't find a problem but if I leave it with them for a week they'll see if they can repeat the problem. Um ya like...no cuking way, dude. I'm not leaving my car with some greasy wrench jockey whole probably use it as a fcuking shack for a week and still not find anything wrong.
Any who, I'm thinking of a Suby. I don't really need a truck anymore and anything built in the states just seems to be shlt so I'm jumping on the true import bandwagon so go ahead ypou fcukers, flame my ass all you want but when you're done you can bend down and kiss.
Thanks for letting me vent. Anyone want a FSM for 2001?

Since you have a check engine light, check the fault codes.

If you can't read them, Autozone will do it for free. My first guess is a bad MAP sensor or its vacuum connection.
