 Subject: 89 Dakota Trans Leak

My 89 Shelby Dakota has a major trans leak, its coming from the shifter shaft where it comes out of the trans...anyone ever mess with one of these? Hoping don't have to pull the trans to fix problem.

theres a seal there,
drop pan,take the shift linkage off and the arms,remove valve body,
replace seal,couple bucks
reassumable
good time to put a shift kit in[if it don,t have one]and change the filter, pan gasket,fluid[atf 3 or 4 plus for chrysler,not dexon] and adj.bands while its apart,things that should be done once a yr

Adjust the bands? I never heard of adjusting them every year. I'm glad to hear this aint a bad job to do. What shift kit you think?

transgo or TCI both are good,the TCI is a little cheaper
