 Subject: 05 Dakota Gasoline Overflow

My new 05 has a serious problem of not not being able to kick off the fuel pump at any gas station. I dropped by the dealership today and they have a few "Hot Tickets" open on the Dakota with this problem.....So look for a recall soon or a batch of bad gasoline tank ball floats.

sorry to break it to ya but 2wd have the same ball joint problems the 4x4's have. Regardless everyone stop making fun of the 05 models, its getting old. This board is dodgedakotas.com not pre2005dodgedakotas.com

Just ANOTHER reason I'm now glad I DIDN'T buy the

Has nothing to do with it. the automatic fuel pump shut off is a device in the fuel hose outlet and has NOTHING to do with the floatball used to make your dashboard fuel gage work.
Do morons like yourself even think before posting such rediculous drivel?

I took it to mean that the overflow in the Daks tank, allows enough gas out of it that it doesn't back up and turn off the kick-off, on the pump handle. I'm pretty sure thats temp driven.
And I agree, I don't think it has anything to do with the foat in the gas tank. Do most 05's do this?
