Subject: painting handles, mirrors IP: Logged
Message: how much trouble is it to paint the door handles and mirrors? i am probably going to buy a color matched front bumper, clear corners, rollpan, and carbon taillights eventually but i want the handles and mirrors to match first. what would i need to do this and how would i remove them to do so? my main concern is that they'll still look or feel like plastic after painting them and i don't want that. anyone done this before and can help me out? if you need any more info, ask and i'll post it on here. thanks for any advice.

Message: You will have to sand them down smooth. Add the bondo so the auto pant will stick better, sand again. Paint, wet sand, then clear coat.
They will still feel plastic, but they will look like the truck(if done correct)

Message: I am going to do the same exact thing. I have seen pics of the work after it was done and it looks awesome. I'm going adifferent route witht he door handles though. Going to dress mine up with chrome door handles instead of painting them to match the truck's paint. Will look great on my silver kota. Good luck with yours.
Also, anyone have pics of theirs? Always like to check out other kota owners' rides.

Message: Try an automotive paint store. They make a special spray paint "primer" that you apply first to plastics to help paint bond much better.
