You could not get them for a 02 when I bought my
Dakota. Take a look under your truck. You'll see
where the tow hook ought to go, there is nothing
to bolt them to.
I ended up buying a aftermarket brush guard for
mine. Once it was installed, I bought a set of
tow hooks from a farm store and after making my
own hardware up, I bolted them to the brush guard
frame work.
Check out the 05's. Maybe (but I doubt it) they
are now a option and you *could* modify a pair
of them to fit a 04 or older ones.

nice. so i guess we better not get stuck and need to be pulled forward. those big gaping holes in the bumper have to be filled with something. the ones that expose the frame. so there must be a tow hook out there.

The two gaping somewhat square holes on my 02 Dak
are not on the bumper itself but under it through
the plastic. No frame behind mine.

A few years ago, someone posted a tow hook he used, and a pattern to a fabbed metal piece he used to bolt it to the frame.
I'm not going to look it up, cuase I don't want one. But I remember it well, and it's here in the archives, someone has done all the work for you.

I bought some Explorer Pro Comp Tow Hooks from summitracing and i just drilled the 2 holes in the frame to mount them. helps to take off the front bumper they line up perfectly with the cutouts in the front bumper. already got pulled out with them. they work great.
btw drilling threw the frame is kind of a task but if u spray wd40 it will make it easier good luck

Read the fine print. This is a REAR tow hook. Goes in the hitch receiver.

I just had a front receiver hitch (Hidden Hitch) put on mine. I works great for towing and I keep a small skid plate insert in mine for protection in the front. It has already saved my front plastic once while I was playing off road. I think it was about $115 installed.
