can i remove the cat on my 00 4.7? one shop says no problem the other says it will set off the check engine light. i am looking at a cat back system but not sure what to do.

If yours has the federal emissions with just one cat it will set the light. If your '00 is one of the many with 2 precats before the lower cat then removing the third cat will not set the light.
