I got a 2005 Dakota last week and just love it.I traded in my 2003 Ford Ranger and just love this new truck.I got a four wheel drive this time and it so fun to drive in the snow. It is red to match my passion.

Don't let the owners of the previous version , the genIII ( 3rd generation ), spoil your enthusiasm.
We love our Dakotas and just have not gotten use to the look of the 2005 yet.
That happened with the new Ram and the new Neon and the new ...insert any remodel here....too.
You are worlds ahead of where you were in the Ford Rearranger.
Did you go Quad Cab or Extended Cab?
Just curious.

Well Betty, after owning a Ford Ranger even a
87 Dakota would be the next thing to being in
heaven.
Glad you like the 05.. Most of us Dakota owners
are still kinda looken it over and not too many
liking what we see.
A lot of us are also holding off buying one
because we are waiting to see if DC fixed
Dakotas problems like, warped rotors, ball joints,
tranny problems and others. If we see no threads
about these problems, maybe just maybe they have
been addressed. Yea, right!

Like I said Betty....like I said.
You can tow more than me, your ball joints are better, you've got more horsepower, your warranty is better.It's all good.
But personally I am one who can't get used to the new exterior or interior.
But my opinion nor anyone elses matters when you're enjoying your truck.
