Subject: Steering wheel tilt lever IP: Logged
Message: I have some keyswitch issues on my 01 and want to remove the steering column covers. Tilt lever doesn't seem to just pull off. Don't want to break anything, just found out the seat lever cost $35. So what is the trick to get this lever off.

Message: to remove the tilt lever you must puch in the tab on the bottom of the lever with a small screwdriver and slide the lever up. its as easy as that.....also I noticed you had a Dodge Dakota 01 i have the same truck and i was wondering if you had any problems with the blower speed resistor block i recently had that problem and think it is a common failure in dodge pickups. My father owns a 02 dakota sxt and had the same problem.
Here is a picture showing the lever and the tab that must be pushed in.

Message: Just bought a replacement one of these,
and it doesn't seem to have a clip or tab
that holds it in place. Am I missing
something here?
