Not only is my Dakota being recalled for bad ball joints (on the 4th set of uppers, think I'll pass on their defective factory parts) but the bulbs in the heater control on my 02 Caravan burned out and they can't be replaced.
$400.00 for a burned out bulb. What a joke.

Did you look personally to see if they can be replaced? I ask because I had a 96 Cherokee and was told the same thing at a cost that was about the same. I drove with it like that for about a year just taking there word for it until I finally decided to pull it apart for my self. It was a replaceable bulb, I just had to take the HVAC assembly completely apart to get to it. You may want to give it a try on your van. Just a thought.
