I guarantee you they will not be good. Are you willing to stake your safety on it? But yes, they will be replaced under the recall notice.

hamlet - Bull, you can't back up that guaranty. I'll guranty you mine ARE good (they've been checked); but I'll happily accept the better ones we'll get in the recall anyway. They won't have to be bad to be replaced in a recall.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Just cuz they are good now don't mean they will be better a few months down the road. I have a 2003 Durango with only 12k miles on it and the uppers on it are shot already...and that is after it was in the dealership for a "safety" check-up 2 months ago just before we made a 700 mile trip; we being me, my wife, my 2 1/2 year old and my 1 month old.

When I got back I took it to an ole buddy of mine that has been doing front suspensions since the mid 80's. The truck wandered a lot while driving and we were noticing the popping noise a lot more. He chewed me out for not letting him look at it instead before making the trip and said there was no way in hell they were any good back then and would have highly advised me not to drive on them.

I went back to the dealership and pitched a major fit and was told that if their mech. had advised me at the time he looked over my truck that they were in good shape then they stand by their mech. and his word.

I also understand from other people that he no longer works there.

Good..I'll be happy when they are replaced.. I've got 69,000 miles on them now, without the slightest hint of a problem.. But I want new ones.. And if the factory didn't replace them, I was going to do it my self..

A recall means a replacement for all specified parts, good or bad. Go ahead and get yours done - it's almost free. If they are in good shape, schedule it for sometime in the spring or summer - anytime you don't depend on your truck much. My truck gets most of it's use in the winter. So I'll take it in for repair in the spring.
