Unlike the OEM Ball-Joints ... replacement Ball joints have grease fittings.

Please consider ...

*** Amsoil Synthetic Greases ***

Synthetic Greases (in general) provide the ultimate protection for hard-driven, high-performance vehicles. Synthetics dramatically reduces friction and wear for improved performance. Excels at both high and low temperature performance, and outperforms conventional greases.

AMSOIL's top performing lithium complex thickener system provides excellent water resistance as identified by the ASTM D-1264 water washout test. Therefore, even in wet conditions a lubricant film remains present to protect equipment against wear while the corrosion inhibitors prevent rust.

AMSOIL greases adhere to metal and are shear stable during severe mechanical activity. These features mean the grease does not thin during operation, but rather it maintains its consistency and stays in place to provide good lubrication.

Amsoil With and Without Moly (please read)

Amsoil makes their synthetic (lithium complex) grease available with and without moly.

_______________ _______________

Synthetic GH Series Heavy-Duty EP Grease
NLGI #1 (Lithium Complex - Moly Fortified)

Extreme-pressure, moly-fortified. Provides outstanding protection for four wheel drive steering knuckles, spring shackles and other components operating in high-load, low-speed conditions. Product Codes: GHB

Amsoil's Heavy Duty moly grease is recommended for high load, low speed, low temp applications where you need a solid film EP additive like moly. Moly-fortified, with extreme-pressure (EP) additives --- providing outstanding protection for four wheel drive steering knuckles, spring shackles and other components operating in high-load, low-speed conditions.

The presence of moly provides an extra measure of protection in shock loading situations common in both construction and agricultural use. During heavy shock loading, the lubricant film between metal surfaces can be temporarily ruptured, but moly remains intact to prevent metal to metal contact which could cause equipment damage. Moly also assists in dirty environments or when proper re-greasing intervals are not followed.

Note: Amsoil specifically recommends using their multipurpose grease that does NOT contain moly for high temp/high speed bearing applications.

Note: AMSOIL GH Greases are available in grade #1 ... and grade #2

AMSOIL GH Greases in grades #1 and #2 are recommended for use in manual or automatic lubricating systems.

NLGI #1 (GHB) greases have better mobility and are the preferred choice for colder applications, for automatic lubrication systems with long pumping runs, and for gear box applications (where recommended by manufacturer).

NLGI #2 (GHD) is the preferred choice for medium to high ambient temperatures, sleeve type bushings, high shock loading environments, high water environments, and is the primary choice for wheel bearings.

Amsoil greases are composed of synthetic base oils and lithium-complex thickeners that provide the film strength, shear resistance, and mechanical stability critical to high load protection. This combination excels in high and low operating temperature ranges by providing excellent oxidation stability, high temperature dropping points, good low temperature torque values and good low temperature pumping capabilities --- for all around protection in severe conditions.

Some PERFORMANCE FEATURES

- Added EP protection
- Adhesive and Shear Stable - prevents squeeze out
- High dropping point
- Excellent water-washout resistance
- Oxidation and corrosion inhibited
- Excels at both high and low temperature performance

Amsoil Series 2000 Synthetic Racing Grease...

equals ... "Unbeatable high-speed/high temperature performance!"

Ultimate protection for hard-driven, high-performance vehicles. Dramatically reduces friction and wear for improved performance. Excels at both high and low temperature performance. Outperforms other conventional and synthetic greases. Product Code: GRG

_______________ _______________

Applications

AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic Lithium Complex Racing Grease meets the highest performance standards of the National Lubricating Grease Institute, GC for wheel bearing applications and LB for chassis applications.

Load Capacity

AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease is an extreme-pressure multi-purpose grease formulated for high-temperature/high-speed applications. Yet, it excels in the protection of low-speed bearings, a job usually reserved for heavy-duty products. Components get the load bearing capacity of a heavy-duty grease without sacrificing the high-temperature protection of a multi-purpose.

Anti-Wear Performance

AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease passes the Ford Film Strength Endurance Test with a 16 point margin (see graph). Most nonsolid-fortified racing greases, synthetic or conventional, do not pass. AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease keeps greased components in like-new condition.

All-Temperature Protection

AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease pairs a high Viscosity Index synthetic base oil with a top-quality lithium complex thickener, known for its extraordinary performance in temperature extremes. AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease offers excellent low-temperature pumpability and high-temperature consistency for dependable all-temperature protection.

Oxidation Resistance and Inhibition

AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease’s excellent oxidation resistance and robust package of oxidation inhibitors prevent grease breakdown and component surface damage in the highly oxidizing conditions associated with high temperature operations.

Friction Reduction

AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease maximizes power through-put and fuel efficiency by minimizing friction. The extra power given by Series 2000 improves acceleration and top-end speed.

Washout Resistance and Corrosion Inhibition

AMSOIL Series 2000 Racing Grease resists water wash out and inhibits rust and other forms of corrosion.

I am going to buy my own grease gun and load it with the
AMSOIL heavy duty grease and make them use it when they
replace my balljoints, instead of that cheap crap they have at the
stealership.

Wadda ya' think ?

grease. I have my wheel bearings packed with it, and use it for greasing the suspension pieces, and my u-joints for the drive shaft.

I also use this grease for the drive shaft splines on my motorcycle. Great stuff. Since I have one HEALTHY air compressor... I snagged up a Craftsman air-powered grease gun.
