I have a special truck actually we have a special truck. The lines and curves of the body panels are perfect and proportional. To me this is the sexiest truck on the market but like us many people love to mod these trucks. Hey whatever makes it yours and looks good. But there are a few things that I hate seeing on dakotas because In my opinion make the truck look bad. And This thread I think should be dedicated to ugly mods that we hate. This way some people and I wont say names can read this and be influenced not to make their truck look ugly. I'll start out with a few. I think the dual racing stripes going down the middle of the hood is kind of cheesy they look alright on Camaros and Vipers and some mustangs but they disrupt the flowing lines on a Dakota(to me). Trust me the stripes dont add any Hp or Tq. Also I don't like the tonneau covers that overlap the bed sides and that goes for you ARE and Leer
I like checkmate because the cover sites flush with the bed sides and looks good. I like some of the bumper covers for our trucks but the sniper grill makes our truck look like a pontiac. Personally why would you take the cross hairs off our truck i mean thats what makes it a real dakota. anyways these are all just my opinion and if you happen to have any of these mods done don't get your panties in a wad because you like the way these look I'm just stating my and many others opinion these mods so that poeple will think before they install somthing that could change their life!!!! ha ha i was kidding about that last part. If you get offended by any of these opinions then your just an emotional pussy. Thats my 2 cents take it or leave it.

You're just looking for arguments. If you don't like what someone has done to his or her truck, DEAL WITH IT. They must have thought it looked good when they made the upgrade. It's just a matter of opinion, an opinion that should be kept to yourself. By the way I'm not offended by your opinions and I do agree with your second and third sentence.

eh, i get what you're saying, but i still think that on a truck that's set up right some of it looks good. i prefer the sleeper look though. i don't like "reverse" sleepers when the truck looks mean as hell, but ends up being a stock 4cyl. or something. the way i see it, if you're going to make a truck (or car) look built, then have the HP/TQ #'s to back it's looks. you can make something look good without it looking like a 12 sec. speed-demon. but still, it's all in the eye of the owner that matters, so if they want to spend their money how they want, then more power to them.

i did that debage! makes it look smooth all the way around. i dont like ne of the euro tails and i also dont like opening a truck mag and seeing 37 pages of shiznit for gm's and chevy's and 1/4 a page of stuff for the dakota

I agree with alot of ugly mods out there...and not near enough decent ones.
- Altezza or Euro taillights...high on the list, If you want european (yes thats what Euro stands for) move to europe or buy a european import.
- Colored bulbs...what moron thought this up.
Headlights are WHITE. Taillights RED. Turn signals YELLOW/ORANGE.
NOT BLUE,GREEN,PURPLE,PINK or any other color you happen to think is 'Cool'.
- Non-Functional Hoodscoops are a sure no..the non-functional should tell you that.

I don't know about your side of the border, but up here, the FACTORY debadged them. My 04 says Dodge and Dakota on the gate, and 4X4 on the 1/4. thats it. I want to get the door decals and bodyside mldg just to break it up a bit. It looks awful.No V8 badges, no QC badges Nothing.

Well, here's my next mod, just an idea but most of my friends have thought I'm crazy. Just curious what my fellow dakota owners think. It came from a 1979 trans am. The pic is just a concept, I haven't actually cut the hole in my hood yet, so in the end the profile will actually be a little lower. The butterfly on the front will be functional too, I'll have it hooked up to my throttle cables. Not sure how good it'll look, but atleast it'll be really unique!!!
And don't worry, it'll be completely functional!!!!

Nobody cares what I think but since you replied you obviously do care. I just like to share my opinion to find out how many people are like me. And it looks like there are a lot of poeple who don't like some of the mods people do.
