Message: My 2001 dodge dakota sport -driver side rear brake light is intermittent- sometime it works for a couple days then not for a few hours or ViceVersa. Seems to work when the mech looks at it!!!!!! could be a ground?

Message: I would try connecting & disconnecting the various connector links (actually, I would do it in the opposite order ;) ) in the circuit. The intermittent connections are a real b!@#h.

Message: Mine started do this too. It started that the driver-side brake light stopped working one day, then would work the next. I replaced the bulbs and nothing was resolved.
As the problem progressed, whenever I put on the left directional, the hazards went on. It turned out to be a bad relay. If you are just having the brake-light problem, this may not be it. But if you start having the directional problem, take it to the dealer and tell them you have a bad relay on the hazard/directionals. It also took me to go to 2 dealerships to be taken seriously - if I can find my receipts I'll send you the part no.
