I just saw a Chevy commercial that advertised(in big bold print)the Silverado as having a 'better resale value than Dodge.' Why the hell would they want to advertise this? Makes it seem like it's not going to satisify the owners needs and you would have to sell it. Yeah that's cool if it's true, but personally I would not want to buy a Chevy for this reason.

no s-hit it holds it value better according to this commercial, but when a consumer like me views this commercial I think that it's bad marketing, I don't care if it will be worth $500 more than my truck when I sell it, in my mind I want to keep a truck for a while. I'm not going to run around shouting 'my Chevy holds its value better than your Dodge.' The point is it's BAD MARKETING. This was ment to be funny, but I guess my sense of humor does not match yours

As a former car and truck salesman I was taught to always tell
customers that "Our" brand the "We" sold held its value better
than the competition.
Remember ...... All car salesman are crooks but not all crooks
are car salesman.

resale value is not something I take into consideration when buying a vehicle. I buy a vehicle to drive it till the wheels fall off or it is totalled in an accident. I am the omega.

Did any of you guys see that Ford add where the Ford is pulling a Chevit truck with a boat on a trailor out of a lake? The Ford guy gets the cevit out and the chevit guy says "man, That went down fast!" then the Ford guy says "Ya, Like a rock". For some reason Ford had to pull the add.

i always thought that too. why would chevy advertise that their trucks have "better resale value" than ford?
i know what they mean, but it makes it sound like people buy a silverado, don't like it and turn around and sell it for high value...meaning:
"are trucks aren't something you keep, cause you'll want to sell after a having it a year."

Hey you chevy guys can come and pick up the 2 2004 SS trucks that are for sale at the used car dealer doown the street (Tyler, TX) for $24,000 and $21,000!! One with flows and 20's and the other stock both less that 15,000 miles. Thats good resale for you, almost half the price you would pay for it new!! I dont have any leakage either ...

i would list all the bad experiences i have heard from chevy owners, but i dont have the next couple of days off work so i could type it all out. if you want to see how bad a$$ chevy is just look at the awesome colorado! wow I-5 thats awesome, too bad our base engine is a 6. and the new 1500's dam could they be any lower to the ground? i think my dakota sits higer that that POS joke you call a z-71 package.

WEll at least the gas millage is great. I think the 292 ci (4800) vortech would have made a good option for the new Caynnon and Colordo. But thats GM for you.
I hope you guy don't tow on I-40 with your small midsizer.
