I have a 1997 dakota with a 5 speed manual part# is 5210-7811 will a 5 speed out of a 1998 dakota Part#5210-7757 work in my 1997 Thanks

No. '97 (and earlier) trannies have an input for the speed. The '98 tranny won't have that so you'll lose your speedo.
