Speaking of overhead console, I am wanting to buy one of the computerized consoles for my dak. They are selling on E-bay for about 100.00. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a factory wire harness up there that I could plug the unit into, or will it just be more trouble than it is worth. I think they would be more novelty than anything, but I still want one. Oh yea, mine is an 01

If you didn't get the overhead computer from the factory, then there is no wire harness up there for it. I have sucessfully installed a overhead computer from my old '99 into my '00. You have to run wires down to the drivers side of the dash board. So if you buy one off Ebay, make sure they will include all the factory wiring from the dash up. You will also need a wire diagram for both the model year it was removed from and one for your truck to make sure you get the wires in the correct spot. Took me about 2 hours to install it and it's been working just fine with all the correct readings.
