Subject: What's the right bushing size?
IP: Logged

Message:
I found that the energy suspensions bushings for Dakota 2WD models list a 28 and 30 MM replacement set. The thing I don't understand is that the R/T has a 15MM front and an 19MM rear bar. Which of these two sets would work? Is the bushing size being quoted the outside diameter? They also have a 9/16" greasable rear bar set. Would this work? Thanks in advance!

I feel you pain. I tried to find eurethane bushings for my 00 CC Sport. Energy Suspensions listed 28 or 30 MM, but the front sway bar was 33-34MM or 1 5/16". I ordered the 1 5/16" bushings, but have not installed them yet so I don't know if they are the correct size.

You said your truck has a 15mm front bar? This seems realy small, did you mean 35 MM? Yes, the bushing size is the OD of the bar. The 9/16" rear sway bar bushings won't work up front as the bushings are realy small, but they might work in back if you have a 9/16" bar back there. I added a 3/4" rear bar so I don't know how the 9/16" bushings work.
