For those of you who know about such things... why don't all performance vehicles use all-wheel drive? It seems like an easy way to plant all the power to the ground without so many traction issues. Is it a weight thing or are the parts less sturdy for the front drive? If I remember correctly, the GM Cyclones and Typhoons split power to all four wheels, but I haven't heard of any others, except for Subaru's WRX, ect. Sorry if this question sounds silly. Just trying to satisfy my curiosity (and justify in my head the expense of the AWD on my '02 QC...lol). Thanks

Rod... I hear what you're saying.. AWD does have tremendous advantages, and in the future you'll see more and more performance car coming out like that.. Even tho there is a penalty of added weight and increased driveline drag..

When I was in the Army as a mechanic..Me and some of the other guys in the shop would drag race Jeeps..And doing a high rpm clutch dump in 4 wheel drive, they would leave like a ROCKET..

more parts = higher price

AWD will probably be a premium option for a while yet.
