I have been noticing that when i shut my truck off after a long drive, it leak a tremendous amount of water under the engine compartment on the passenger side. i know that during the summer that is where condensation drips from my A/C, but right now I am not using my A/C. The liquid is water not antifreeze, and it creates quite the puddle. I recently just had my freeze plugs replaced so I am a bit nurotic about leaks right now, I don't think it is the heater core or a freeze plug leaking cause it appears to be water and I have a 50/50 mix on the anitfreeze, so it should be green if leaking right??
Any idea on what could be leaking if I am not running the A/C???

the a/c compressor will also run in defrost mode. and a couple of other modes. could be that.

Could be, I did have the defroster running, but you would think it would leak/drip more water when I run the A/c than the defroster. I mean it make a 10" puddle of water.....
Also jsut on a side note. Have you noticed that when it's about 50-65 degrees outside your sway bar bushings start sqicking really badly. As soon as it gets colder of hoter they stop. I have heard that there are after market POLY bushing that do nto squeck...

are you sure it's not antifreeze then? have you checked your coolant level.
don't have the squeaking swaybar bushing prob.

Like daddio said, it most likely is because the A/C compressor is engaged. It seems the only time it isn't on is when the climate control is in the vent or floor position and the little "snowflake" isn't illuminated. I'm not sure how it affects the newer compressors, but a lot of people have suggested unplugging relays or the electrical connection on the A/C clutch during the winter months. Try a search here on "Defroster" or something similar to that. I'm kind of wary about not having the A/C cycling for months at a time because, if I'm not mistaken, the only way the compressor internals get lubed is from the oil circulating through the system. Anyway, I hope that's where the water is coming from! '02 QC 4.7L AWD LSD

Assuming no vehicle fluids have been topped off with water, the only answers are either exhaust condensation and a/c drain. If you use the defroster, the heating system employs the a/c system to dry the air before blowing it to the windshield.
