Subject: Gas Gauge needle IP: Logged
Message: ok, so i bought some new gauges for my truck. everything went on fine, except when i put the needles back on. all others reset, but not the gas gauge. same thing happend when i instaled the one for my girlfriends neon. ne ideas?

Message: The last time I did that sort of job, when power
was applied to the system, the gas guage was
trying to read what level is in the tank.
To make sure the needle was set right, I removed
the wire from the sending unit on the tank. Now
you can put needle to empty, zero or just touches
the end post on the guage. When sending wire is
grounded, guage should go all the way (and past)
the full mark..

Message: that give me some stuff to work with. maby if i fill the tank it will fix it? if i remember correctly on my stratus it fixed its self. ill see if i can find that wire. thanks.
