 Subject: Stock Trailer Wiring?

I have the stock trailer tow hitch and trailer plug. I have only dealt with 4 pin flat connectors but the one is round. I dont have enough experience with this type to know if its a 6 or 7 pin connector. I need to get an adapter that changes it to 4 pin flat, but need to know what type the truck has.

Mine is a 7 pin round, and it came with the proper adapter to 4-flat. The adapter should be available anywhere that sells trailer accessories. If still in doubt, just take your truck there.

Same here. If you want to know what each wire does, take a look on the flip-up cover, it's printed there. Do you have a plastic bag with the trailer brake controller wiring? The adapter should be in that bag. Otherwise, you can get the adapter you're after from any trailer shop, RV shop, or the dealership.

Go to any RV dealership. They have the adapters
you need plus wiring for each pin. Most are glad
to answer your questions also.
